Cam for my Olds 350?

Yes, I contacted Mark on this. I have got his recommendation but was based on when I had 1.6 compared to my current 1.72 rocker arms. I dragged my feet, was really busy and just PMed him again, I know he is a busy guy. My current combo is a 9.5 to 1 Olds 350 with well ported #6 heads, 2"/1.625 valves with Comp dual springs good for .550" lift and positive seals. They ran 12.7's in a heavy Delta 88 with a similar compression ratio 350 with the Comp 280 cam. The final drive consists of a 2300 flash stall converter, TH2004R trans and will have 3.90 posi in the Type O for gearing. I have a Mallory distributor that I can put any curve in with a custom tuned Qjet carb that is slightly rich at idle, will work fine with more duration. I currently have the way too small 204/214 Performer cam. It pinged even on 91 till I added very cold NGK plugs, slowed the timing curve and removed the choke plate. I am hoping for 89 octane when cruising around, daily driven from spring to fall, good manners and definitely need a bigger cam to compete at our track, even with the slowest cars. Lunati for example recommends their Voodoo 213/219 cam as the largest for a daily driven 350 ci motor. But that is a generic rating and cam. Just curious what everyone else is running in their 350?

UltraDyne 217/221 in my sig line. Idles smoothly at ~700 RPM with 16" vacuum with the HEI initial at ~18º. To me it really sounds like a factory idle with performance mufflers. I'm surprised Lunati says a 213 is the biggest they recommend for a daily driver.

I do like the sound of that Ultradyne cam, very similar to what Mark recommended. Glad to hear about the good manners of that cam.

Just curious, from what I see online, that Ultradyne 217/221 is ground on a 110 LSA, correct?

Yes. It's one of Harold Brookshire's designs.
