Which cam?

Puttin a 1968 olds 350 with #5 heads into my 71 "s". Was thinking of mild stall convertor and some gears. 373 etc. I will be putting together the engine this week. I would like the car to get going quicker than it did before I pulled its original engine, that's why I was thinking about gears and stall covertor. I don't have money for any engine work other than having the heads done and a cam. Any thoughts on what cam to use for some decent weekend fun?>

if it's decent running 68 350 leave it together. It will benefit from a stall converter and gear. when you have the money do the engine right. A 2200 stall and a good 3.73 gear will pack a good punch you will for sure feel. I drove one summer with a 307 in my 72 and with 3.73 gears a 2300 stall headers holley carb and a good tune. it ran awesome. It packed enough of a punch to roast the tires on it's own.
