C heads on a 350

Built 350 i'm looking at buying. Making about 300 hp. Has 7a heads, valve job but no porting, but I can get a good set of C's all done, for really good price. Will it work? Any help will be appreciated.

It will work but you won't see any real benifits over the sbo unless you really rev it up. I recently just got done building a J headed 350 and will be spun past 6500 my current sbo spins to 7k rpm with ported #6 heads. With just big valves and a little bowl work one of my previous engines easily spun to 6500 and made 370 ish HP

7a heads typically have 66-70 cc combustion chambers. C heads typically have around 80 cc, so the compression ratio would drop a LOT by swapping heads.

^^^THIS. Unless you plan to change the pistons and use a port-matched Performer RPM, you'll likely hurt performance with this swap.
