hey olds nation . my friend has a olds engine that has 8 heads. he is probably going to junk it. are they good heads.

 

are you sure they are 8 heads or B heads

 

They are not the worst 350 heads, but not the best either.

 

IMO #8 heads are not as bad as their reputation. They have large exhaust valves, hardened seats, and the large chamber with flat top pistons yields a very streetable 9 to 1 Cr. The exhaust side needs some work, but in reality so does the "better" early 350 heads. Also, contrary to some myths, the blocks are the same as the early 350 blocks, with solid webs.
