One of my head bolts is streched but the others seem fine. Is this something that I can replace just one or should I do a whole head or both heads? The other head is already torqued down with a new gasket. Could this be a symptom of a bigger problem? There was a stuck valve and some bent rods on this side and they have all been replaced. The only things not replaced are the block, pistons, and crank. Thanks for the help!
I get chilly going to hardware stores for hardened head bolts....they wont be shouldered for starters....you cant get a set somewhere else?
I bit the bullet and bought a set of ARP from Summit. So much for the cheap route. Would switching one bolt at a time on the head thats already torqued keep the gasket intact?

I think that you would be better off using half the set on the one side and leave the other side alone .
If this is an Olds 350 , O'Reilly's has OEM bolts for $2.49 . If you can return the ARP's . http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/se...ake=Oldsmobile
