I have a 88 chev caprice wagon with 307 and I wondering about changing the intake from that to a 350 rocket 2 bbl intake ? Will it bolt up / in ?
Hoping to by pass all the vacuum b.s.

First problem is that the 1985-1990 307s have smaller ports than the earlier motors. The 350 intake will bolt up, but the port mismatch will cause a flow disruption.

More to the point, why do you want to change to a 2bbl anyway? You can easily disconnect the vacuum hoses that you don't need and cap them on the stock intake. Your bigger problem is removing the computer controlled Qjet. The computer controls both the carb and the distributor. It requires signals from both to function properly. Removing either will disrupt the computer system and send it into "limp home" mode. If you are going to disconnect the computer, you need to replace BOTH the carb and the distributor with pre-computer parts. You can use a pre-computer Q-jet that bolts to your existing intake and a pre-computer HEI distributor.

Joe is correct. An older Q-jet in need of a rebuild can usually be found for less than $80. A pre-computer HEI distributor is about $30-$40 used at a junk yard.
