83 olds 98 new here
Hello , I’m new here I own a 83 98 regency , love the car so far (not the 307) but otherwise great .
I need help figuring what this leak is , back by my exhaust , if I look up there’s a metal plate and behind it there’s a small round cap , and it’s leaking coolant from there and I’m not sure how or why. I will attach the photo , can somebody advise ? Thank you .
The smal black round cap there’s a chip in it which is causing the leak , it drops from there down to the tail pipe

Welcome. You mentioned your 98 isn't the 307. Is it a diesel engine?
It's hard to tell from your pics. Is that at the rear of the car under the back window and trunk? If so, I'd say you aren't seeing coolant but it's where water is seeping under the rear window channel.

I think what he meant was that he loves the car, but not the 140 HP 307.
If that's coolant, the heater control valve at the rear passenger side of the intake is likely leaking and coolant is running down. The second choice would be a leaking heater core, but you'd probably notice the wet carpet on the passenger side footwell.

Thanks for the information. I also would like to help you by sharing the website https://onlinecasinoalberta.org link where you can easily find Alberta online casino gaming sites with reviews. If you are not so good at searching for online real-money gaming sites, then you can visit the given link.

yeah no wet carpet anywhere in the car , the odd thing again is that it’s near my exhaust pipe alllll the way in the back around that black cap. Was thinking of just getting a sealant and closing up the gap..
yes love the 83 just not the 307 motor lol

checked for leaks yesterday none on passenger , none behind passenger and none in the trunk . Wasn’t thick enough like trans fluid more pinkinsh like the coolant I had put in it before . Does not smell like fuel, what is the black cap in the picture I posted ? Because that’s where it’s coming from ?

The plug is just a drain plug in the floor. There are holes in the floor to allow the primer to run out when the body goes through the primer dip tank.
Let's recap:
There are NO coolant sources behind the firewall, period. Unless you have a gallon of coolant in the trunk that's leaking, it is impossible for it to be coolant.
The ONLY fluid near that location is fuel, period.
If it's not fuel, it's water leaking into the car somehow.
Again, how do you know it's coming from that plug? Are you SURE it isn't running down from somewhere else? You can pry that plug out. If there is liquid above it, it will run out. If it doesn't run out, the leak isn't coming from the plug.
Common sense is your friend. And can you post a photo from further away so we can see exactly where that leak is? I'm assuming the shield in the first couple of photos is the converter shield? Or is it the muffler shield? Saying it's "by the exhaust" is meaningless if you don't have a stock exhaust (which we just found out in the most recent photo you posted). How about not making us play Twenty Questions if you want useful answers.

if I knew how to exactly describe my issue and where then I would do so , im new to Oldsmobile so don’t be an *** in your responses I’m giving you the information I see and what I have so if that’s not good enough then don’t respond . My common sense and my eyes and my nose tell me it’s not fuel , it doesn’t smell like gas and my floors aren’t wet so again if I knew this I wouldn’t be speaking on how to fix it ????? I appreciate your response I’ll keep checking the threads for what you his could be , it’s just as weird as it sounds .

Joe means well, he is quite knowledgeable and wise. He just comes off as mean because he's blunt and you can't see his facial expression or hear his tone of voice over a message board. If you want help, please try and be patient with him, and Joe and others will try and help you.
