My 65 cutlass runs so much better since i re-install the 4bbl rochester, but it's a little bit too quiet.
I think about switching the original line to a dual exhaust pipes, from headers to muflers.
I'd like to know what brands & parts are avalaible now, and which one did you choose?
How did you do? fitting was good with aftermarket parts?
If you have as local muffler shop, go see them. They can probably bend and install pipes cheaper than you can buy them pre-bent. You should probably pickup about 15-20 horsepower with duals and your but dyno will pickup more than that.

Yep. The 1972 350 engine specs show 20 horsepower and 25 Ft-Lbs. torque increase from single exhaust to dual exhaust, so I would expect similar from a 330 engine.
Over here we don't have muffler shop, its not the kind of parts we change very often. And even if there are some, we are not used to built our own stuf, we order oem parts...
I am NOT sure about 65’s…
But later cars that had single exhaust had a cross over pipe like the one below.
its makes it harder to add dual exhaust.
You would have to find a block off plate for the manifold that has the 2 outlets.
Thorton sells manifolds that were meant to have dual exhaust.
OR you can get shorty headers which look easy to me.

There are options for that. The block off plates are available from the aftermarket. Or cut the crossover pipe near the flange, crimp it, and weld it closed. I’ve seen that many, many times over the years.
That’s what I did when I had my first Olds at 19. Hacksawed off the pipe, went to town with some vice grips and just crimped it closed.
Couldn’t weld yet, so it stayed like that. Thought I was the only one!
Unfortunately the miniscule bump in power comes at the expense of taking away from the aggressive sound you are looking for... So I also go with no X or H. Recently had my exhaust redone, from cats to exhaust tips. And went no H pipe this time.
I have run X and H pipes. The H pipe quiets the exhaust but I didn't notice a change in tone. I added it and set of Summit Turbo mufflers on an Olds 307 wirh full length headers, 2.25" duals and glass packs. Until I added the H pipe and Turbo mufflers, it was unbearable in a no interior 78 chebby 1/2 ton truck. I used a X pipe with 2.5" duals, shorty headers and Hooker Aerochamber mufflers with 2.5" tail pipes behind the tires with an Olds 350. Probably the best sounding exhaust on any vehicle, louder but no droning. I have owned. My current full length stainless headers, 2.5" stainless dual cats, pipe and stainless Flowmaster FX mufflers with 2.5" tail pipes exiting behind the bumper. Just loud enough for my liking. Just duals with the right mufflers will be night and day better sounding and performing.
Hi every one, it's been a long time for me w/o cruisin' my 65, due a carcrash last october 24.
Finding a shop to chrome bumpers over here is a true nightmare, *****$ŕ greenlaws...i sent mine in portugal, 3000€ both rear and front...
A friend of mine will ship stuff from TX to Europe in january 26, so i would like to buy a a full exhaust line : tubes and mufflers.
I saw many off them on summit , pypes, opgi, flowmaster.....and other but too many choices makes mistakes
Before ordering it, i would like to know wich one did ordered for your 65?
My son will weld it if needed
It's to be install on the 330 engine, i'll keep my original manifolds, oem headers seems to be pain in the *** to install.
Pypes is the only down pipes from the manifolds to rest of a system that I know of. Just go for a system and add the Pypes down pipes. Mufflers are a matter of what you want for sound level. Turbo mufflers are usually the quietest next to stock replacements.

The factory set up is 2.25" up to the mufflers, then 2" tail pipes. For a stock 330, plenty fine and definitely easier to fit vs a 3" system, which arguably too big. Almost forgot about the Waldron system. By the time you buy down pipes with a Pypes but is a 2.5" system in stainless. But it isn't any more money for the Waldron dual exhaust, unless you opt for stainless. Interesting on the different diameter on some 330 manifolds, you will need to measure the inside diameter before ordering.
You appear to be fluent in English. Call Waldron via telephone and tell them about your circumstances. See what they say about helping you meet your deadline. Do not email them.
thanks tricarb, not always easy to do it by writing, but all of you are gentle to reply to me too.
I've mail them this morning and ruth, at waldron, told me they can not promise me nothing, caus xmas holidays, so before ordering i try to find another company to get deliver on time
maybe someone here already ordered at classic car exhaust, we'll see within few days
