Any Olds motor will cost about the same to build - cores are anywhere from $100 - $600, whether it be 350 or 455.
What are your intensions??

The 330 is a pretty nice motor, if you have the hi compression "4" heads it has 10.25:1 CR right out of the box.

I like the 330 and the 425. They are "odd ball" engines in everybody's eyes, but still make a lot of power if built right, just like a 350 or 455. Plus they fall into that 1964-1990 all exteranlly the same statement, but the 64 330 has the timing tab on the wrong side.

The trick is finding overbore pistons for the 330. I can't find them anywhere

Generally the Hi-comp came with a factory 4V carb. Basically you need to consider what you want out of your car. Originality, performance, or what are you after? Then you need to consider your budget. How much are you going to spend?

Just my .02. I had a 67 cutlass with the # 4 heads and a 4-speed
with a 4 bbl from an old toronado. Damn, that thing would haul...

330's are good engines. You might actually have to lower the CR a little bit (to about 9.2 to one) to use pump gas. My Stepdad had a '65 F85 with a "built" 330 back in the late '60s/early '70s that ran 12's consistently.

Others have used them with no real problems. There may be other venders, just wait and some of the others will chime in. The 330 can be bored up to .060 over, ask your machine shop if they have any sources.

High compression 330 will have "WG" on the rim of the head

I believe his is a early 67! We never verified what engine is in it from his newbie post. He has an F-85.
