Bought this 65 cutlass and I pulled the plugs the other day and one of them had been smashed by the piston. Not sure if a connecting rod snapped or piston pin broke. Going to tear apart the motor. Wondering if there is anything out there with info on rebuilding a 330? This will be my first complete rebuild and I'm just looking for any info that would guide me.

 

Assume nothing, maybe plug was dropped begore it was put in and not checked.....Remove plug and put something in the hole like a small wood dowel and turn engine by hand to see if piston goes up and down...just dont loose the dowel.

When Ilook in the plug hole all I can see is what looks like the top of the piston. It looks clean and really close to the plug hole. The engine will not turn over. Maybe siezed.

 

If you cannot turn the engine with a breaker bar on the balancer bolt I too would assume the engine was seized as well.....the 330 rebuild is no different than any modern rocket in basic procedure. You must be careful of cam angle if replacing the cam.
