330 engine screeching

Vehicle over heated and acquired a loud screeching noise. I’ve changed the water pump, thermostat, belts, harmonic balancer, and crank seal. I removed the belts and found that the sound is coming from harmonic balancer area. Coolant in pan is from replacing water pump

Your description makes it sound like the noise started after the overheating, and was already there when the harmonic balancer was changed. I'm wondering how severe the overheating was. It sounds like something is scraping (rubbing) on something it shouldn't. You could try to isolate the noise a bit more with a stethoscope. Check to see if the oil pressure is normal. I'm assuming that the problem which caused the overheating has been corrected.

Car was running fine before I had replaced all parts noted. It had over heated day 2 of owning it. I’m going to look at the starter and crank bearings next if it’s not those I’m probably in deep pocket trouble

Fuel pump maybe? Did you have the timing cover off, change timing chain, oil slinger washer on backwards?

Long shot...are you sure the balancer is in good condition? They slip on the hub sometimes and can walk backwards to the cover.

Balancer is new but I didn’t add a sleeve to it. Not sure if that makes a difference? Fuel pump is brand new and haven’t touched timing chain or cover
