Harmonic Balancer install ?

Got my balancer rebuilt and was in the process of installing it. How far do I install the balancer on the crank snout? To be honest, I don't recall how it was indexed when I removed it.

Should the inner ring of balancer be flush with the crank snout?

Or, is this something I have to mock up the pulleys and belts to ensure everything is aligned?

The balancer is keyed to the crank so it can only go on one way. There is a balancer installer tool that is way better than hammering on the balancer to grt it on far enough for the bolt threads to catch and pull it the rest of the way on.

I have a balancer installer tool already. From some reason I thought that it looked like it was going into the oil seal to far. But if this is not possible I will crank it down until it bottoms out, torque it and forget it.

it is not possible to put in on too far, it goes on until it bottoms out on the timing gear.

Turns out it was as far as it was going on anyway. Just being being over cautious I guess.

Thanks
