330 #2 heads on 75 350

330 #2 heads on 75 350

would 330 #2 heads be ok on a 1975 350 engine? going to have harden valve seats put in and leave all the rest stock, going to use stock head gaskets. what do you think...jim

The only things to be aware of are 1) actual compression ration (though you should be fine, particularly if you are using the Felpro blue gaskets) and 2) the pushrod holes, which may need to be enlarged for clearance due to the 45 deg vs. 39 deg lifter angle.

Didn't the later 350 engines use the bigger head bolts?

1977-up used the 1/2" head bolts (to make up for the windowed, thin wall blocks). The 1975 motor in question should have the same 7/16" bolts as the 330. Of course, the early heads can be drilled out in any case.
