324 Heads on a 371 engine

324 Heads on a 371 engine
Hello from sweden!
Recently bought a oldsmobile 98 -57 that had a 324 from a -56 in it.
Since it broke the other day and i want the original 371 engine i want to ask if my heads from the 324 will fit a 371 block?
Heard that the engines have similarities and couldn't find anything searching.

I am pretty sure that is not going to work. While the engines have the design the upper is different. Charlie Jones will probably speak up. Charlie speaks the gospel on these first generation motors.

Supposedly any 1st gen head will bolt on any 1st gen block .
That being said , the swap you contemplate will probably not work . Because the intake ports are different sizes .
Use 371 heads with the 371 block . 57 or 58 will work .
371's also had a taller deck height than 324's .
