374 SBO in T/A

This car is not mine but the guy lives about an hour away from me,he built this motor a few years ago.Sounds very nice and I'm thinking about the possibly of doing one like this for my 72.BTW it's got small block Chevy rods an 400 Chevy pistons .

That T/A sounds like an Olds. They are VERY distinct. It's funny to hear that car sound like that! Very nice. As for the burnout, I never understood that. Must be a generational thing. I think that T/A is cool and all but I think I could turn the tires over in the wife's Edge on that macatem. LOL!

I've watched your videos MR.Z ,you should turn your go pro camera in the direction of the rear so we can see the smoke coming off YOUR tires as your power shifting your big block through a rolling burnout !!HA HA BTW I love the sound of your car.

Thanks! It's getting freshened up and a TKO 600 added for this year. It's a close ratio box so rubber in 4th gear is a possibility. I sold the M-20 to a guy on here and I told him to make sure it is inspected properly before it goes in his car. He saw the video too so he knows it's been through hell and back. The dog (Tobin) hardly ever misses third now, BTW. LOL!

This my motor. The guy who had it built (George) decided to go with a different motor after he had this one built, so bought it from him. It's never been installed in a car yet.

Huh? I guess they use an electric pump, you can see the line coming off of the carb and it leads to some where. The mechanical one is blocked off.

I honestly wish you luck with the fuel system on your motor. I am running those heads with a mechanical pump but, I had to grind on the head to get it to fit. Beware! I ran these heads on a small block too and had to go soooo far, we ground into a water jacket. Had to weld them up. There IS more clearance on a BBO but I'm pretty sure you either have to do some grinding or use the electric pump. I chose to use the stock pump and grind on the head. I didn't want to be messing with an electric fuel pump. I had one long ago on another car and found it to be a PITA. Edelbrock makes NO mention of this in the description of the heads for the BBO. This turned out to be a MAJOR stickng point during the build of the car.

Just dyno'ed last week, 360hp 365ft lbs to the tires, and still too rich. Was not a tuning session, just wanted a couple pulls to see what she put down, while it was there getting the transmission sorted out.

Hopefully tuning WOT AFR will pick up some power, I'll probably tune by the plugs at the track.

Quick specs: 355, non-ported Edelbrock heads, correct springs for Erson hydraulic roller cam, 226/234 on a 112, .584 lift., Q-Jet, Perf RPM intake, MSD ignition, Dynomax (I think) headers, 2.5" pipes with H-pipe and Hooker AeroChamber mufflers.

Just rebuilt numbers matching engine. Exhaust pipes and mufflers will be coming from American Racing Headers on Tuesday, so this video is with the headers only. Dyno at 348.6 HP and 378 TQ.

1969 Cutlass S

I liked everyone's post, its added motivation for me. The is my first project, just recently had the 350 rocket put back in my car. When I bought the car it had a 403 in it. As soon as I figure out how to post videos I will post my car's engine. I have pics but don't know how to post videos yet.
Also like I said in the beginning I'm green at this but I would like to know exactly the year and hp/tq etc..of my engine??? #39558 2, #5 stamped on the heads.

As I wrote, compared to Youtube vids of 350s and the videos posted here, I miss the typical Olds Locomotive sound a little.

On the other hand I don't have mufflers but rather large 20" to 25" glasspacks.

Mine doesn't really have the "typical Olds" sound as much anymore. Edelbrock heads that don't have a shared center exhaust port, and a 4/7 swap cam, it sounds different.

I'll have to post a new exhaust & burnout clip in the Spring.
