1968 Cutlass S with 1976 350

I have a 1968 Cutlass S convertible with a 1976 350. My question is, what's the best route to rebuild this engine with a nice cam and all that good stuff. I'm look for a strong cruiser 350 - 400hp....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

First question, do you want 350 or 400hp? Those paths will be different to some extent.

The biggest questionable part at 400 HP is that lightweight crankshaft. Speedpro forged pistons, head work, 2" intake, bowl cutter and blending with the right cam and headers with 2.5" exhaust should get you to 350 HP pretty easy. A member on here hit nearly 450 HP with porting and milling #8 heads those pistons and a roller cam from Cutlassefi.

I apologize, I was saying 350hp to 400hp. It had a 76 350 in the car. It's an automatic trans. Wasn't sure if Summit or anyone made kits for my situation? Either way I'm just looking for the best route and not necessarily the cheapest route.

Find out what rear end ratio you have, decide on a "power level" you want. You'll likely need a different torque convertor. Cutlassefi can put together a "kit" for you, that would meet your criteria.
