1964 only, 330 only, AC brackets?

The PN manual says one of the AC compressor mtg brckets is specific to 1964 330, though others in the set are used on other models and years.

Does anyone have any experience with 1964 Cutlass [or J88] 330 with AC?

A car handy for photos?

I don't think I have ever seen a '64 330 with AC.

If you have the parts for sale all the better.

Get in line. The A/C brackets on my 64 Vista were missing when I got it and I'm still looking. Note that the A-body brackets are different from those for the J88, since Olds mounted the accessories on the J88 in the same locations as for the 394, apparently to simplify plumbing, so there are two different 1964-unique sets of accessory brackets.

Could you post pics of the parts and/or pn you & Chris are looking for, I don't have any 64 books to look at, nor my part manuals reliably go back that far to even cross ref #'s. I know I have some odd brackets that don't match the 65 . Be happy to look tomorrow if you can provide.

Joe, your fountain of knowledge never ceases to amaze. Thank you for clarifying that. In looking thru the PN manual, I find:

Well, for '64 F85 330 with AC,

it appears that the front bracket '800 is pretty common

Link '802 is common

Rear bracket '804 will be tough as it was used only on 64-5 F85 V8 apps.
On castings, the PN is usually cast into the item, not found on stamped links though.

382800 BRACKET, AC compressor mount, 1966 Toro FRONT casting.
72-To also
64-65 F85 V8;
66-67 Tor.;

382802 LINK, adjusting (front listed most apps)
64-68 V8 exc. exc. 66-67 5200 or Tor.
72 V8 exc. 5400, 6400 w/ 350 Eng.
73 All E [Toro.] (rear = listing error? for 73 E-body)

382804 BRACKET, AC compressor mount, REAR casting.
64-65 F85 V8; <== only !!

Here is a pic of the 65 BB Brackets

Thank you, it is nice to see what we are looking for and how it differs from the later units. It looks like at least two more tubular braces that did not show up in the PN search. Can you confirm the #'s cast into the iron parts?

Only two years, you must have connections. Try finding a 7028254 carb or worse yet a 7028253.

So the Grail is in Chris's pic top left, and 'stata's upper right, correct?
'cuz the two parts don't appear to be the same to me...

They matched what you have listed for the cast parts 2804 and 2800 last four digits

The tubular parts I might have extra as my 330 has two on it and I bought the ac bracket with compresser and hoses.

There was a 64 J88 coupe for sale online a few months back, the ad is gone now.(of course..) What stuck in my mind is that it had a/c and the compressor was on the driver side. There were very long hoses running across the engine compartment. The a/c appeared to be original, it had the dash vents and the Frigidaire compressor.

Hope this helps!

Very nice shots of the installation of the brackets.

It appears the front casting for '64 330 uses TWO bolts to the head vs all three of the head bolt holes for 1965+ versions. "Oldstata" please be aware that the '65 442 would be a B engine and what with being not-1964, the castings and thus the related support struts are probably different.

In a practical sense, either set will hold the compressor and function, but I think this is one of those nit picking detail things where the buyer and the above '64 owners insist on the exact right parts being in place.

Provided they can be found.

As I pointed out above. The 1964 J88 located the accessories in the same place as they were on the 394 used in the other 1964 full size cars. Completely different from the arrangement in the 64 A-body cars.

a/c pics

As far as I know the a/c has not been messed with. There is one wire runing to the compressor that does not appear to be stock. There is also a compressor bracket missing.

i have only the larger 2800 cast part with tubulars attached. 322800 that is , so does this make it the 64 unit and the 66 toro unit

I don't know what years, Chris listed numbers from a parts book above ?

Mine came off if a 65,442 in personally think 64,65 are the same, but jamades pic don't show that front bracket very well

Your missing the rear adjuster link that mounts to block and the rear ac cast part that mounts over valve cover. 804 part

Your cast part number matches mine and the two links attached look correct to me.
