1964 & 1965 4gc carb canniblization
FYI,
This weekend, I successfully made one good carb from two different carbs. I was just a little concerned when I received a 4GC from a 1965 F-85 and noted that there were a few differences.
For instance the base was unuseable to me as the throttle linkage changed from 64 to 65. I think the switch pitch switch on a 65 is entirely different. So knowing my carb base was good, I was able to swap the float bowl and float bowl cover over to my original carb base.
Another difference is the 65 must use a different method of choke pull-off as it did not have a hole for my 64 choke pull-off link to connect so I canned the choke shaft and plate from my 64.
Been test driving it a bunch and all is fine, runs better than with the old carb on there.

Guess I should have mentioned this in the original post. The two carb numbers are 7024054 from the 64 F-85 and 7025054 from the 65 F-85. There are some definite differences, but I was able to make them work with no modifications.
