I added my answer within the same window and hit submit message. Is that correct or?

 

Yes, you can check by looking at the message sent window also.

It's best to put your response completely above or below whatever the person who PM'd you wrote - especially if you're quoting them - and stay consistent where you put your responses. That way it's easy to read them.

 

So I should click in the window of their message above or below it, respond, and "submit reply" back to them with "sent" checked.

Is that right?

 

I usually enter mine above.

You can either type your response in the "Quick Reply" box below the message you received (in it, you'll see the text of the message(s) you've gotten, starting with a [quote= and ending with a /quote]. You can add your response above or below what they wrote you. Click "Submit message" when you're ready to send it. OR you can also click the "Reply" button (lower right corner of the original message) and it'll take you into a screen with more advanced formatting options, and the ability to change the who the message goes to, cc or bcc other people, etc. Finally you can also use the "Forward" button (right next to the Reply button) to send the message to other people.
