Can't load pictures anymore

For about a week now, I can't load pictures here. Anyone else having troubles with it? I can still load them on other forums and Facebook so I don't think the problem is on my end. When I load a picture it gets to 90% and just quits.

Nope, no issues. Do you get an error message? Your pictures may be too big.

Are you using a VPN, you cannot use one for this site? Are you getting an error message? When I get strange operations, I would clear all my browsing data except the passwords.

I have always had a VPN but just changed who I am getting it through. I didn't think of that causing it.

As mentioned in the CO post (URL link), it's most likely the result of IB blocking ASN IP address blocks, changing VPN server location "generally" fixes the issue.

On another subject, How needed is an antivirus like Norton? I hear of free ones but are they any good? For the most part, I don't go places I shouldn't on the net and don't open things I don't know what they are. Do I even really need one? I don't think my work computer has one and never had a virus.

I cannot speak to any other OS other than a MS OS; therefore, Unix, Linux, Apple, etc. are off-the-table. If you're using MS OS W10 or W11 I would NOT use ANY 3rd-Party AV s/w. Ensure you have Microsoft Defender Antivirus enabled on your OS. That is the ONLY AV s/w you need.

I have Windows 10 on a Dell desk top. as far as OS, I have no idea what that even means. Remember, I am the guy that is lost on computers. I used VIsta up until 2 years ago and had WAY less trouble using it as I have the 10. So my 10 may already have an anti virus?

Windows defender works well as I stated above. I've been using it since windows 7 and it's free.

I guess I need to look it up. Is it something I download or is it already on the computer? If it is free, I will get rid of my Norton.

I actually don't really know if my Norton is doing anything. All I have are adds pop up to the side wanting me to buy more protection. It don't ever say it is actually doing anything.

OS stands for "Operating System" (rather basic). You're running W10 (Windows 10) OS (Operating System), you said. Just go to Search on your computer and type in Microsoft Defender Antivirus - it will show up in Windows Security>Virus & Threat Protection. Make sure it's enabled. It is built into the OS (Windows 10), remove your Norton AV. You can also search anywhere on the Internet to find a plethora of videos & documents demonstrating how to enable Microsoft Defender Antivirus.

I suggest, once you're in the Windows Security arena/page, you ensure you have both the Public & Private Firewall turned ON (enabled).
If you want the best Ad blocker (OpenSource) software available for free, d/l and install uBlock Origin (link below). uBlock Origin is NOT only an Ad blocker (probably the best in the industry), it STOPS cookies from tracking your Internet Browser behavior. Since, by default you WILL have SOME cookies located on your PC (as a result of navigating the Internet), those cookies which are loaded into your Browser interface will NOT be able to capture, track and forward any of your browsing history.

I NEVER receive ANY advertisements when logged onto Classic Oldsmobile - none, nada, zilch. What's important to understand; however, are the cookies which Classic Oldsmobile loads onto my PC just as a matter of logging onto Classic Oldsmobile. The list demonstrated in this screenshot (beginning with classicoldsmobile.com ++) is only ONE HALF of the number of tracking sites which are wanting to track my Browser behavior when I am navigating Classic Oldsmobile. uBlock is stopping all of the listed data analytic sites from gathering information from my PC Browser. Therefore, what's really important is stopping those analytic engines from gathering information about my Browser behavior (you should be able to recognize a couple of them from the list below). uBlock Origin is blocking all of them...including any and all tracking behavior from classicoldsmobile.com
