posting pictures

is there a place that would explain how to show pictures I'm not most computer savy. I assume you take pictures with camera or phone and import them to some where on the site. I would like to show some of my projects and work. I enjoy seeing members pictures. don't beat me up on this.

When posting a message, scroll down to "Manage Attachments." Click on that, upload your photos from whatever directory they're located at on your computer, and then post your message. They should appear as thumbnails.

Most who have troubles posting is because the file (picture pixel size) is to large for CO's antiquated system to digest. If you re size your pictures to something around 100 KB"s they will go through without a problem. There are free sites that will do that for you, just Google re size pictures and choose a program that works for you or adjust your camera if you have that function on it.... I have found recently that I could avoid the error messages by downloading one picture at a time to my post rather than trying to do a large group all at once

I have had no problems with this and some of my picture file sizes are giant. There is no resizing necessary, unless possibly your upload speed is so slow that the system times out.

When inserting an image, this is the method I use and it has given me no issues at all:

But that only works if the image is hosted on another website, such as flickr, picasa, or any of a zillion others, as all you're doing is inserting a link to it. That causes the image to appear full-size in the body of your post, rather than as a thumbnail (as your image shows).

The OP's problem is in trying to upload images to this site. That's what people have to do if the photo they want to show is sitting on the hard drive on their computer, and they want to display it here.

Yeah, and now you'll get all of your pics in large easy to see format instead of those unsightly thumbnails.
