Funny you should mention that. I just recently broke a very old 5/8" six point socket. Of course, the replacements are all Chinesium. The biggest problem I have with that is that the socket walls are considerably thicker on the new ones, which restricts where I ca use it.
I have noticed that also but so far it has not affected me that much. I did have one just the other day that I could not get to fit on the Jetfire. I found that the 12 point is a little thinner and I got it to fit. Luckily it was not a tight nut that required a 6 point. I rarely use 12 point but still enough that it is a must have.
........Their soda blaster conversion kit works about as well as the expensive one from Eastwood. ...........
I bought the 110 lb. sandblaster from HF on sale several years ago for around $110.
Soon after that, I saw the identical sandblaster, except painted blue instead of red,
for $179.
I've noticed other Eastwood items since then that appeared to be disguised HF stuff.
I talked to someone who worked at the Stanley works in New Britain , CT , at the time when they closed the tool factory and started importing their tools from China .
The inspectors threw most of the first load of tools in the dumpsters , because "they did not meet Stanley quality standards".
Management responded by coming down and firing all the inspectors.
At work i have the best of the best i have invested in. At home i dont care lol. I will buy taiwan china crap because its not my money maker. Plus all the big ticket tools i just bring home. I do live their 3 ton low pro jack. Great value for the money. Its actually pretty ironic the quality of tools i have at home lol. pretty sad.
