New Winter ride

i POR 15'd the frame and any place that would be suspect to rust. I also cleaned all the door drains to make sure nothing was plugged up. it is a nice car but its gonna save my Marauder from the winter. I'm dumping the electronic carb and dist because its running sluggish and throwing a tps code. probably worked fine in 87 but i'm not chasing down problems in that old of a system.
it took me quite a while to find a nice 4 door. last winter was pretty mild so as long as the salting keeps to a minimum i should be good. most of my trek each day is 80% highway. i may bump up to run 15inch snow tires because i think i still have a set of studded ones at my dads shop.

Clean! Look at the side profile pic and you'll see that, like most GM cars, these cars were NEVER MEANT TO WEAR A VINYL ROOF.
Joe P, ain't you pretty good with electronic Q-Jets? That TPS might be a simple fix. Is this a 307 or V6?

This time of year, hardly anyone thinking bout the next winter, and you already have a ride. Its pretty cushy too. Meaning...comfy seats and stuff. Only needs studded snowtires. I'd rock it.

yes the windows are fixed...no reason anyone at GM should have thought this was a good idea. my Mercury Marauder's rear door have glass the goes all the way down. I remember my moms 84 delta going half way. they are basically similar door designs. Ford out engineered GM something fierce on this one.
I found it on craigslist, mainly because i was looking for a 4 door g-body, preferably a cutlass. I woulda loved an 83 cutlass cruiser wagon but this is pretty close to what i wanted. the only thing i woulda changed is having it code 31 dark teal metallic and giving it overdrive, maybe a few power options but for a 30 yr old car i cant complain.
car belonged to a priest at some point. probably why its close to rust free.

On the Olds, you can see that despite the small quarter window, the main sliding window is still limited by the wheel arch.

you showed how easily it was done via the design . Someone at GM signed off on this BS. "yeah, people wont care about a window that goes half way down"
you wanna see a car thats really awful, try the 94-96 impalas (and caprices) it might go down 30%.

And both people who bought them withOUT A/C probably care about that...
