Cool There is a new Olds owner on your site ;)

Hi everyone,

my name is Andy and i'm from Germany. I got my first classic american car in June this year and it's a '71 Cutlass S

After some research I think she's a true survivor and very original with a 350 rocket and 88.000 miles. She was first sold by the very first owner in 2010 and found her way to Germany in 2015...

But I've no clue if there are any numbers matching and how the best way is to find out

Here are some pics for you:

Welcome to the site. Congrats on your first American car. Looks extremely nice. Post your VIn# and a picture of your body tag attached to the firewall and the guys will tell you how it was born.

Welcome. "Numbers matching" is the most mis-used term in the auto hobby. Technically, it means that the VIN derivative stamp on key components like the engine block, trans case, and frame match the VIN of the car. The VIN has 13 characters. The VIN derivative has nine characters. The first should match the first of the VIN, and the last eight should match the last eight of the VIN. This drawing shows where the engine block and trans case VIN derivative stamps are located.
