Can someone help me identify a dipstick tube that will fit my 69 442 with a th350 trans and a 455. I see there are 27 and 34" versions, and the brackets and bends all look different. Not even sure it is right, as all of this stuff was apart when I got it. I know the th350 was in the car at one point, but not sure where this one was bolted up to as it doesn't seem to end up close to anything unless it is pinched behind the firewall and engine. anyway, if any of you have any advice on picking out a dipstick housing, I appreciate it. I am not doing correct restoration, so just looking for proper fit.
There are many aftermarket dipstick tubes that don’t use the o-ring, they have a sleeve that is much less leak prone. I know Coan Engineering sells them for 42buck, I’m sure summit or JEGS has them also. As long as the tubes are the same length you don’t have to use the later dipsticks, the modern plastic handles do look out of place under the hood of a classic
