TH 350 modulator pipe connection 1972

The top is in the direction of the bolt

Hi! I am attempting to connect my new modulator pipe to the TH 350 in my 72 cutlass supreme 350 4bbl. The assembly manual shows the pipe connecting via a hose at the TOP of the modulator but my modulator only has a nipple at the end. Please see the photo and the AM Diagram. Also is it regular vaccuum hose to attach it? Thanks!

Yes, regular vacuum hose.
I haven't seen a modulator with a 90º port since, well I can't remember when. Those are large body with an adjustment screw on the end; most all of the replacements are like the one you have, with the adjustment screw in the vacuum port.

Thank you! Any particular inside diameter of vacuum hose? And what is the adjustment screw for?

Got it connected. It's a 7/32" vaccuum hose. Thanks! But I don't see an adjuster screw and what is it for anyway?

Most vacuum modulators have a screw that allows fine tuning the shift points - turning the screw moves the part throttle shift point up or down by several MPH. Some are inside the vacuum nipple and others are external as in the CSM diagram.
