Installation fan controller

Hello guys, what is the ideal way to install the fan controller (see picture)? Stick it through the radiator or put it in the hose? When I stick it through the radiator, does it measure the right way because of the airstream while driving? When I stick it in the hose i´m afraid to damage it, because it is filled with gas?

Thank you for your tech tips

Daniel

Most install it here, the fan is mainly required at very low speed or idle. When the car is moving there is enough airflow to cool without the fan.

I've used that style controller before. The bulb is supposed to be in the coolant flow in the radiator hose. There is supposed to be a rubber "wedge" that sits on the hose barb on the radiator and has a groove for the capillary tube so you don't crush it when you tighten the hose clamp.

That style can be installed either way Joe. If your using the contact method, it needs to be installed against the radiator close to the top hose.
