I followed Joe Padavano's electric choke upgrade instructionsby replacing the original single pole oil pressure relay with the three pole unit. So far so good... Unfortunately the coil in the single pole electric choke that I purchased on Ebay rotates counter clockwise when heated rather than clockwise.
I contacted the vendor (USCarburators) but they do not have a similar item that rotates clockwise. Does a single pole electric thermostat exist for my application, and if so what is the part number?
I did locate an upgrade kit at Mike's Carburetor but there's is a complete kit with two wires/poles and costs $40.00 which I am happy to pay if needed.
Also, is it possible to remove the coil on my existing electric choke and flip it around to make it rotate clockwise? The coil is really really pressed on tight and I am concerned that I could damage it....but it only cost 15.00... All responses are appreciated...
What carb are you running? Typically the Qjet coils go one way and the 2GC coils go the other way. Unfortunately I don't know what you mean by "clockwise" or "counterclockwise", since you didn't specify which way you were looking at the coil.

I like to use Standard Motor Products CV329 (from a mid-80s Chevy truck 454) to convert to electric:
Depending on how you want the choke to respond, there's also CV362 (from a mid-80s Buick V6 DualJet):
The 2GC coil looks like this (and runs in the opposite direction):
Unfortunately, I have not found an electric choke thermostat that runs in the same direction as the 2GC coil. I have found a carb parts vendor who says to just pull the coil off and reverse it. They also sell just the coil in case it gets damaged.
Thanks for your reply Joe...I bought a rebuilt Rochester 2GC to replace the Original 2GC which was filthy and in need of a rebuild. I spoke with Mike's Carb this morning and they said they didn't have the thermostat that you found. Do you happen to know the part Number? By the way the thermostat was installed incorrectly on the rebuilt carb (far left)...I did just manage to remove (and flip) the electronic thermostat winding with the aid of a bench grinder applied to the center pin so I am anxious to try it out on the car...
I just found Standard Motor P/N CV291, about $13 at RockAuto.

BTW...a pic of my work in progress that I took today...I'm going for the clean look and have removed all body trim...
Ran into a minor snag with TTO,s rubbing on front ribbed brake drums so I installed washers on the lugs, but i relly need to upgrade to longer studs now...

Sharp looking car. What size TTOs do you have in the front? I've got no problems with the 15x7 TTOs on the front of my 67 Delta with the original drums.
