Looking for advice to decode the cowl tag on my 73 Cutlass 442 Vin tells me it was a 350 Lansaing coup. I will attach a photo cause I'm getting conflicting information from the internet and I know you guys will be able to decode this.
The M20 denotes manual transmission, AN7 is swivel buckets, D55 is front compartment console. 26 26 is Zodiac blue poly, upper and lower body. I'm sure others will help with the rest of the codes.
You should list your car in the 73-77 registry and it will show you other options available and the codes for each. https://www.v8cars.hu/73-77cutlassregistry/

Thank you. I've been trying to discover its original identity since I bring the car home. The vin only tells you so much. Some people were trying to tell me it wasn't a 442. But everything I've discovered tells me it is. Front rear sway bars, heavy cast decals, ect. Thanks for the info
Although, a lot of 1973 4spd cars are coming out of the wood work lately.
442 was an appearance package only, no different than ordering the interior light package.

Ok do you know the specific differences between the Cutlass S and 442 package? I know there is not much changes but I'm trying to figure out what is different.

Cutlass S is a model. The W-29 442 option was just an appearance package for the Cutlass or the Cutlass S.
