Just got my block and crank back from the machine shop. I'm about to start assembly of the short block.
Where should I set the piston ring end gap?

Its a 60 over 455 that is going together with an Eagle rotating kit. Cast crank, H-beam rods, SRP flat top pistons, Speed pro moly rings.

Block was line honed, zero decked, bored over then honed with torque plates, hard block filled to the water pump holes, and crank was balanced.

Having my E-brocks checked and rebuilt if needed and installing RPM performer intake.

Plans are for a HYD Roller which I will need new valve springs for.

This info should have come with the rings.

 

A good rule of thumb is .0045 per inch of bore. So, a .030 over 455 is 4.185 x .0045 = .0188325 or basically .019

 

I normally shoot for .020 on the top ring and .015 or so on the second ring.

You must have good fuel, you'll have about 11.0:1 with the SRP's.
