Getting Ready for the Next Round

I will be headed back to Livernois Motorsports this coming Saturday, 9/13, to continue testing the big block olds. I have a stupid O'Clock flight and land at about 9:00am. This is a shorter trip. I will be working there all day Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and until about 3:00pm Wednesday then fly back here to sunny Florida. Sunday I am going to the Detroit Lions home opener at Ford Field. Remember the dyno burned up a servo control board, but it will be back this week.

This is an open invitation to anyone that wants to come to help. If you want to help, just get ahold of me, jerry@tandjw.com. Right now it will be me and Lloyd on Saturday and I suspect Ron in the mornings Monday-Wednesday (Ron is racing his Cutlass Saturday). Other than that it's just me and maybe Lloyd (great guy by the way).

The agenda is in write up #7, which is currently in Garys hands to edit and make sound/flow better. But here is a preview;
Run the engine is it's current configuration, which is some kind of milder automatic cam.
Run this engine with Lloyds 1970 W-30 air cleaner assembly to see if there is a pressure drop resulting in loss of power.
Swap in the manual camshaft and rerun the L69 set up.
Run the W-30 configuration again with the above air cleaner assembly.
There seems to be interest, via e-mail, in what can a stock appearing engine make for power. Not the racing class, but for people that want a stock appearing engine in their classic Oldsmobile. So we will put together the best we can with the parts we have and see what it makes. Ported C heads, Big hydraulic roller cam, ported iron intake, quadrajet.
Then swap out intake/carb/headers and see what the same engine makes.
Install the PDD (Peyton) ported Gen3 heads and see how those perform.

I don't know if I'll have time for much more than what's above, more details will be in write up #7 once it's published.
