1966 tri carb
Hi, i really would like to run my advanced vacuum on our 67 442 car, it has the l69 tri carb on it, works great, i have the advanced vacuum plugged off, is there anybody out there that can tell me where the hay to plug this in at ??? the last unit i had years ago had the correct olds carbs on it, the center lets just say on the pass side front just a little bit below the bowl at a angle is where it was plugged in and worked just fine, the problem here is i have the parts place carbs, the center doesn't give that provision, so again where to put it, and where did the factory put it ?? any info would be great, thanks john...............

ok, its great to know, i bought my carbs in 2010 they have made some changes to them, i guess they took the numbers of the end carbs plus some other things that iam not sure of, on my center i just run my pvc valve, the end carbs had no vacuum source, i had to drill the bases out to get vacuum for my power brakes and transmission, thanks for your help john..

The parts place carbs are random cores they slapped repro bases and tops on. I had some and sent them back or sold down the river
Ignore the tag numbers as the are faked and easy to change
Real Tri Carb Fuel bowls will have casting numbers
7031575 with vacuum port to distributor on center carb
7029683 body of front and rear carbs These are special and specific ... Never had choke and made for tri carb Tripower OLDS Pontiac as far as I know LOL

66-3X2 442 i have to tell you the crap i had to go thru with these parts place carbs, i was talking with mike wasson from the Pontiac tri power team, real nice guy, he told me pretty much everything you have said above, i tore my end carbs down to nothing, sent them to them cuz the venturi size on the ends should be from the factory 1 5/16 the parts place ones were 1 3/16 so they bored them to that 1 5/16 the center is 1 3/16 from the factory, i cant say what these parts place ones are but iam thinking there that 1 3/16 the center carb had the only provision for vacuum so that's were i ran my pcv valve, i had to drill both my ends one for transmission and one for power brakes, the rear one is for my power brakes and my front one is for the transmission, no more parts place carbs for me very disappointing, i bought there back in 2010 there were 1200.00 bucks back then according to them they have taken off all the numbers on the bowls !! and are now over 1500.00 i don't care at the end of the day they are still KA KA to me, 11971four4two thanks for your info yes the 683 casts are for 1964-66 on gto and for our 1966 l69 casting ends were 997 for 63 previous, on weds iam going to go out to our building and take pics of my intake and post them here so you guys can see ok, hey i see your in Minnesota so are we, what all do you have here is my email address johnm442@frontiernet.net thanks to everybody who has replied for me on this website john......

Properly done, Tri-Carbs run well. Even with my sorry driving, my 66 has run 11.51 and 118.97 mph. Cobbled up and mismatched, who knows. I got my sets (one sold with #24, one set with #13, one on Rund, one spare) in the early to mid 1970s.

Glad to see you're admitting your driving is sorry but I still love you Dad.

OK,that's what I figured. Are the ones Mike bored out the TPP carbs? If so,that's what they are doing, using regular regular 2GC carbs and making tri carb end carbs. I checked their website and they are using the same part # for both Olds and Pontiacs. That's not possible for correctness. They are doing the same thing for the center carb, using other model carbs and making them. In their pictures the center carbs do not have the bowl vent like the OEM carbs. I know Mike Wasson, very nice guy who has helped me a lot.
