southeast gasser super stock build
southeast gasser super stock build
Im looking for some direction about my engine build for Sega super stock class. They only run 1/8 mile tracks and the quick stock class guys are prob in the low 7s The class break down is 8.5 x cubic inch for big blocks and 9.5 x cubic inch for small blocks and they have to be 4 speed manual and have to run a dual plane intake.
I have a 66 4 door cutlas that weighs 3770 currently with a 455 and th350. I have a spare stock 455 block, crank and rods with 30 over speedpro pistons and spare E heads with big valves that have a mild port and bowl clean up. If I stick with 455 ill have to add weight to get to 3920 lbs. So Im thinking maybe I should build a 350 and shave some weight down to 3400 lbs but Id have to look for a 350
My thinking is to go with the less weight route with deep gears 4.56 or lower to get the weight moving but im not sure and im open to any suggestions.
thank you
dan
