You need to relocate the proportioning valve to the top of the frame out of the way. I use a solid on the drivers side only.

My father; Oldsguy, fabricated solid motor mounts when he installed a 455 in his 46 66. There's a reason the OE motor mounts are impregnated with rubber. Do What Eric said and you'll be golden. It wouldn't be fun driving a car with solid motor mounts.

Yes. No need for a solid mount.
I’m still running stock mounts at 600+
They take a lot of vibration away.

What would you know about no fun with a solid motor mount? I have been running solid mount for 20 years no problems. Yes the car gets street miles as well as racing. At some point depending on how fast of a car a front plate resolves all issues. Oh Yeah I fabbed my mounts also.

I've heard that solid mounts alone stress the #2 main too much. A front plate alleviates that by spreading the twist out to the frame. I have a front plate with solid mounts as longitudinal limiters.
As far as "fun" goes, I'm having a blast; doesn't bother me at all.
