Olds 455 Mild Build

Hello, I have a 1971 olds 455 out of a 1971 delta 88 from the casting numbers. The engine had recently been rebuilt but under inspection I found a bent pushrod and some pretty worn cam bearings but the bottom end looks amazing. New standard bore dished pistons with stock rods and crank. My goal is to use the bottom end and possibly heads with new cam and valve springs. Heads are G heads with the smaller valves I believe but they look rebuilt. Whats the best route for a cam and other things for this build? Thinking about the lunati 10420702LUN. I would like to keep it lower compression to run on 87. It's going in a 71 cutlass th350 3.23 gear. I want a good strong street cruiser with some Get up and go. What do you guys recommend???

You need to find out why cam bearings are bad

Probably never changed, more than likely factory cam bearings. I suspect once removed the will have a GM stamp on them.

Standard bore aftermarket pistons? Sounds like a cheap hone, re-ring and bearing “rebuild”.
