Info on 9410

Anyone ever use powermaster 9410 vs 9510.
says additional clearance for headers and oil pan.

My 9510 won't fit with the moroso pan and American racing headers unless i install 1 bolt in header and leave it loose to move then install starter, do up header and then wires for starter.
Doesn't sound like much but regular driving around and having to undo the exhaust to change a starter on the side of the road is dumb.

Wondering if the 9410 is slimmer..
The 9610 little bit bigger then 9510.

Thanks..

I have the moroso pan on three cars. No issues using the powermaster 9510 starter. One has American Racing 2" header's 1970;442 ,455! What year is your car and engine.
I will add it's a tight fit but depends on how you put it in and out. There is a way to get it where you want it without removing any bolts. On a 1970 with a 455. Note these header's were designed around a powermaster 9510!

Its a 67 .
with my hookers or headman with this pan its a non-issue. The ARH are bent closer ,that I can't just change the starter unless I perform said procedure.

Gotcha. Have you called American Racing and asked for a suggestion? By the way you are right I have a 67 also with hookers headers 455, and Moroso oil pan Powermaster 9510 starter no issues.

I just replaced my 9510. Hookers here too though, Canton pan.
I have to pull one of the bellhousing bolts because the starter bolt drops into it, but I won't bore you with manual trans problems. 😉

I just looked, you need the 9410NM, not the 9410. Remember the sbc mini starters will fit Olds. So starters like the 9100 might be worth trying. It just depends where you need clearance.

What I don't understand is this. My buddy has a 65 and ARH 2" Moroso oil pan 455 engine uses a Powermaster 9510. I thought the frames were the same 64/67!

don't know if they route the 2in tubes same as the
1 7/8. Also even with a gig maybe they are a bit off, not sure.
it does hit the cross member, i will have to dent 1 tube for clearance.

The 9510 fits but I cannot install the starter if the headers are bolted up, and can't fit headers if starter is bolted in...was looking at grinding the starter but rather not.
