edelbrock vs quick fuel slayer questions

Unfortunately my 403 is having problems in my 81. I gotta get back out my 455 to go in. I sold my edelbrock 800 I had on it so have to carb shop again. I love my edelbrocks but the quick fuel slayer has been getting some good press. Would my current throttle bracket still fit the quick fuel set up? Anyone have a quick fuel ...likes dislikes...? They are actually a little cheaper than the edelbrock. I would go fuel injection if I didn't have to by the #$%% %^&*$in expensive g body big block headers.

Your comparing apples and oranges. You can also look at Barry Grant and Holley. most carbs have people who like them and hate them, a lot of folks on here also like the Rochester. I guess it boils down to preference and what your comfortable with.

For the street I like my Holley 3310.

I have 468BBC in my car with a Performer Manifold. Works well and it was inexpensive. With that said, I've also run Edelbrocks, Rochesters, and double pumpers with great success.

People have had great luck with these on the street also, 770 Street Avenger.

I absolutely love the Quick Fuel stuff. Very tunable, high quality and great tech support.

I've never had any luck with the Edelbrock carbs. I've owned 2, they were brand new and I think they're junk.

jmo.

jmo.[/QUOTE I havn't tried the Quick Fuel carbs, but I also have had 2 Edelbrocks that were new. One on a BB Chebby, and 1 on my Olds 455. I didn't care for either.

I have never had trouble with my ebelbrocks.Easy to tune and set it and forget it. I had an wide band 02 on my 403 and was disappointed because I never even had to tune always had good fuel mixture. We are getting a little off subject though. Anyways, does anyone know the answer to my bracket question???

As with any carb and manifold swap, there may be some minor tweaking involved for linkage and brackets. Just make sure there is no binding and the you can get WOT. Trans brackets are the same scenario.
