Comp 1442-16 Rockers

In the process of installing a set of comp 1442-16 rockers on my new engine 455. Is there a sequence used to tighten the rockers? Also one of the rocker arm stands/studs broke when I was tightnen it. There are no instructions that comes with the kit, well at least I got none. That darn stud twisted off and I did not apply no more than 18lbs of torque on it. Needless to say I had to drill the broken stud out and use a helicoil. That stud surely could not have been a grade 8 bolt. What a pita. Anyway in what order do I torque these rocker arms down?

Thanks in advance/

I follow the exhaust opening/intake closing method to ensure you're working on the base circle of the cam.

Standard valve adjustment process. The pinch nuts just tighten until they're in the right spot then they'll hold themselves there. Mostly.

That snapping is the problem with stock heads. Those holes are small, so that's a fragile point. They shouldn't break *that* easily, though. I've used a few sets of those and generally found the studs to be good. Should be good to ~30ftlbs. I do always use blue threadlocker on the head holes also. Otherwise they'll just come out any time you adjust the nuts.

Do make sure the hole was clean and empty. It's easy to hydrolock with some oil in there.

I read lots of negative posts about those and bought a set of Mr Gasket poly locks. I used the thicker FelPro rubber gaskets and the poly locks fit under factory valve covers with no issues..
