7.69 @ 90 mph
Nice runs by the way, must be fun as hell. Yeah, ICE cars are soon to be extinct. Gas prices here are getting stupid again and carbon carbon tax is increasing every year here, another 7 cents per liter in April. Exactly why I got my RPM converted to SEFI, I need a mileage machine apparently. Our local track closed a couple years back and now it is a 4 hour trek to the nearest one. Enjoy it, while it lasts.
They have been closing tracks like crazy. Dozens have closed last year and more on the way each year. Soon, there will be only a few tracks left in the USA. It's all part of the plan to end ICE and race tracks. The next generation will not be able to experience what we experienced. ICE, drag racing, etc. The end is coming for that, like so many other things we experienced growing up, is now gone.
That's why I don't understand some people who refuse to drive their classic cars, saving it for what? Once you are dead and gone? Drive it NOW and enjoy it.

Thanks! Sadly, yes, ICE will become a thing of the past. Our cars will become very expensive to drive so they will probably end up sitting in garages in the next 10-20 years. EV's will overtake ICE in the next 5-10 years as far as vehicles sold. They are building charging stations on a daily basis. The infrastructure is not here, yet, but it is coming. Just a matter of time. I say we got 10-20 years before it's all over for ICE and our old muscle cars. Drive them and enjoy them now because the time is coming when it will end.

Definitely second on the drive the things!!!
I hate hanger queens and trailer queens….if I own it you will never here me say I bet it would be fun to fly or drive…
I let people drive my car all the time to share the experience.
I let young kids start it up at car shows…it’s something that will someday be gone and sharing the experience helps the younger generation understand how fun they are even though electric cars can be way quicker. Of course I expect any car that’s 50+ years newer to be faster and more efficient but they have no character….
thanks for sharing all the techniques you guys use to add a little more zest to the cars.. fun reads.
I've used:
Performer RPM
Batten unfinished
The old Edelbrock dual plane
Factory W-30 intake
Port o sonic tunnel ram?
But I'am doing a 455 for a forum member right now with the Torker intake, first one. Phoenix is a altitude track, so theres a tenth right there.

True, the elevation is a 1/10 drop.
Although, EVs dont get affected by elevation. Another advantage they have
I run a Torker on my 71 442 w/the 468. It's a manual trans (6 speed) but it's been great. Can granny drive around or bang thru the gears with 5800 to 6000 RPM shifts. To be fair adding the Fi Tech throttle body fuel injection really helped with the granny/low rpm driving. It was a little twitchy with the old carb below about 2500 RPM. The Fi Tech set up really tamed my cam (Crane Hyd roller: 288/300 @ .006, 234/246 @ .050, 592/614 (1.65), 112)plus I can run the AC w/o no idle issues at stop lights. Never had it at the track (with this motor and trans) but it dyno'd at 528/563 at the motor a few years back. Lots of BBO guys running 11s with Torkers over the years and some in the 10s. I wouldn't think it would be hurting you but I'm no expert.
