1956 Olds 88 (324) Misc Parts

Hey guys, trying to locate some of the missing parts from my 56 324. I've circled the parts needed in red. I think the right side(drivers side) is the temp sensor and some sort of linkage mount, the left side(passenger) I think is a coolant line to the firewall maybe?

Thanks,

Sorry I don't have those parts but your assumptions are correct. Good luck in your search.

Thank you sir! No idea what to even call the parts, but I'm going to keep hunting.

I may have these, but I won't be able to check for a couple days.

Awesome. Thank you! Based on diagram, it looks like I am missing on the drivers side the parts circled in red, and on the passenger side, just the small plate w/ the coolant hose.

I've located the two pieces in your first picture from a 1954 324. I'll try to get pictures of them in the next day or two. Not sure if 1956 used a different transmission or not, but I'll look for the rod assembly and see if its the same shape as your picture.

John, my understanding is that the 56 Olds used two different transmissions. If it is a regular 88 with a two barrel carb then it used the hydramatic just like the 55. If it was a Super 88 or 98 then it used the new Jetaway which is easily identified since it has P on the shift indicator for Park. I am sure that linkage is different.

Thanks Glenn, I was thinking they were different but it sounds like it may or may not be. So we'll see what the OP has with his project car.

I think the difference is in the lengths of the bars and such, which I don't care much about. I can always make new rods, but I need something as a general guide if you know what I mean. Thank you for looking, keep me posted! Really appreciate everyone's help!
