Rear deck filler panel

I need either a reproduction part or the cutout form a donor body of the filler section between the decklid and the rear window for the 70 W30 hardtop. Body is a 34487. It seems like the Supreme body has a reproduction part made for that but I can't find it for sale anywhere now. I also found an old post somehwere that showed it for a Chevelle, maybe with a little work that could be used. Open to good used, reproduction or other ideas (balsa wood and a gallon of bondo? ). Let me know what you have.

Correct me if Im wrong but I think this is the pc in question? If so it recently came up in discussion for a 69 resto. The gentleman who posted was told 68-72 are all same? I can't verify that but I would say 70-72 are the same. The panel in question was also called a tulip panel?

Yep sure looks like the correct panel. And yes I need that. The company suggested above got back to me instantly and said they do not produce this part and they know of nobody else that does either. So I will need to recreate it or get it off of a donor car. I would say that any 77 or 87 panel will work. Supreme body looks like it would be different

Yes supreme is different.
How bad is yours?
I removed one from the car Im working on which was a little rusty but not beyond repair. Ive seen much worse lately. This one being off the car would be easier to repair Im thinking but would still need repair.

So yes, that is the panel I need. This is what mine looks like. Some duct tape and POR15 may fix it!

Wow, very odd that the part for a Supreme is available but not for a 442? I thought all the aftermarket parts were geared towards the 442.

And I really liked the video of the Banshee in that link.

I don't get it either unless the convertibles are more prone to rust there or its a bigger market but I'm with you, i'd think the 34477 and 34487 would be the largest market

I doubt convertibles rust more often than hardtops in that area - I had both and the vert doesn't have anything to trap water and cause rust compared to a hardtop with the rear window gutter and chrome trim to hold water. I do think vinyl top cars of any body style rust more than non-vinyl top cars. Seen that way too many times.

Yeah supreme is totally different design with a channel around all sides of window but they still rust out also. Reproducing a channel pc seems a lot easier than reproducing the pc that so many of us are after due to multiple layers of metal along with compound curves and stamping.

TTT, Looking for another one. Body shop lost the one I found them 4 years ago. Have no idea if 68-69 would fit '70 but if someone knows please confirm one way or the other for me. Thanks.
