Need Seats For A '49 Convertible

I have a '49 Olds 98 convertible that's almost ready for a trial run, I have some seats that are pretty much bare metal. I will probably rebuild the rear seat because they're hard to find, but I'm thinking about replacing the front seats to something better and hopefully power.
Anyone have something stashed away that I can use. I'll consider buckets that fit. Car has a 16" Lokar floor shifter.
Thanks.
Bob

That is one of those it's different enough that only you and a tape measure would know if you have found the correct seat.

If mine I would visit the local pick n pull and measure up everything that looks close and take notes. certainly it could be foreign or a mini truck even a SUV, there is something out there that would take a minimum of fabrication.... Just a thought ...Tedd

True. I've heard Honda Odyssey seats are nice fits. eBay is loaded with them.

Need Seats For A '49 Convertible

I have a very clean pair of gray bucket seats with fold down arm rests. If interested, email me direct: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

Been over a year since I posted this original thread. A lot has happened since. The car is running great with the Chevy 5.3L and 4L60E transmission. I've decided to restore and use the original seats even though they're not the original power seats that come with the 98. I'm having a hard time with the convertible top. There's a wooden bow on a 98 convertible that is not on the smaller 88. My original was worn and broken so I had a cabinet maker make me a new one. Now I've found the convertible top still in the box when I bought the car doesn't fit. Too small. I'll need to buy a new one. I don't plan to use the power top mechanism. It will be lifted manually.
Most of the chrome and stainless is done. We will begin work on the power windows and door poppers. It won't be easy.
