'55 hood lip moulding or alternative

Hi guys,

My '55 Super 88 is missing the hood lip, YES the most expensive and rare piece in the history of automotive everything!

So my question is, what should I do?

Try to make one myself, or welding up the entire lip?

Or any other ideas?

Greet

hood molding

Find one on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Oldsmob...xU-Noq&vxp=mtr

part nr on '55, '54 and '56 is the same all nr.8054 discr. molding.
correct me if i'am wrong.
Have to wait till summer to compare in real live.

or look at this one, the part you want is on it and you got a lot of extra parts.

https://classiccars.com/listings/vie...innesota-56001

Both are expensive, mayby someone with a better solution.

Good luck (and still you can't have mine)

Sorry to say it , but that is wrong .
The part number 8.054 is a group number . Group numbers are for all parts of a similar function . (I.E. all water pumps are in group 1.069)
If you go to group 8.054 in the parts list you will find that ;
1954 is part #563967
1955 is part #566263
And nothing is listed in group 8.054 for 1956 models for some reason.
Illustrations typically have group numbers on the parts , You have to refer to the group number in the parts list to get the actual part number.

54 and 55 look the same but they do not interchange. 56 does not use one as the bumper fits right under the hood.
