Alternative to woodgrain dash inserts?

Alternative to woodgrain dash inserts?

I have a 1972 Supreme and am in process of changing the Saddle interior to Black. I would like to fore-go the woodgrain inserts and use brushed aluminum. Has anyone seen a source for something like this? I've seen a car done with aluminum on the dash with white gauges and on the console. I have to say it looks awesome! If you want to see how it looks check out this website. Any leads would be helpful

That is pretty sweet. My best guess would be that he fabbed his own pieces out of aluminum sheet. Most stuff that I have seen for interiors is just aluminum veneer that looks tacky.

I did exactly that on a 1971 Cutlass that I built back in the 1980s (check the Oct 1985 issue of Car Craft ). I bought aluminum sheet, made cardboard patterns, cut out the aluminum, sanded the surface in one direction to give it a brushed look, and mounted the panels with button head allen screws.

i did same as OLDSGUY,made paterns ,and used aluminum,dads an ol sheet metal,and he carfully cut out piecies.im really proud of how it turned out. 70CS has good idea too,you can buy decal that looks like carbon fiber at autozone, My door panels are next,SORRY no pics dont have digital camera yet.take your time itll look good ,stay cool,BO
