WTB a 7043257 Q-jet carb ('73 4-speed)

The current Q-jet carb on my '73 4-speed, is not in the best condition, mechanically speaking, and I need to replace it.

I'm searching and wanting to buy an application specific, "7043257" Q-jet carburetor.

Let me know what you have.

Thanks!

Hello Almond, thanks for the nice offer. In this case, I'm specifically looking for a correct "7043257" Q-jet replacement for my 4-speed car.

I revised my listing to reflect the 4-speed transmission.

I'll keep your information, in case I need it.

Again, thanks for the offer.

I've got a 7043250 that ran so good I didn't dare touch an adjustment for fear of screwing it up if you can't find the exact carb you're looking for.

Finally located and acquired the factory correct 7043257 Q-jet carb. Get this, the build date decodes as showing it being built in the same month and just over a week before the build week of my car.

What are the chances of finding a factory correct, '73 specific, and "numbers matching carb"? Especially one that's well within the build parameters?

Man oh man....feeling pretty good.

Thanks and welcome aboard!

I had to really work to locate it but it paid off in the end.

I see you're about 4-5 hours south of me, that's good to know.

So how long have you been in the Qudrajet carb business? Just curious.

Thanks. Yes, not too far south of you.
There are many Quadrajets getting hard to find and prices can get crazy. I have about 400 cores on hand and have some hard to find units.
I have built Quadrajets since the 70's off and on, and started this business about 4 years ago after we moved here. Got the website going and now selling parts and custom kits. It has been fun! Stop in if you are ever down this way!

^^^^Exactly!

Wow, 400 cores? If I need another carb in the future, I know where to start looking.

I'll definitely stop by the next time I'm down that way heading to Big Lou's Pizza.
