Thanks Scot for your help. I should have thought of that. I am not sure what to look for yet except have been given the correct code.

Lee No problem. Love your car, I wish I could see that thing at the Olds Nationals, but I can't make that trek. I know you are trying to keep it as correct as possible. Finding "THE" code correct one will be a treasure hunt to say the least. I would shoot for at minimum a 4 speed radiator from any 70-72 GM A-body. Just until you locate "THE" one. Just my opinion. Good luck. And I will keep my eyes peeled.

The tanks on my stick-shift cars still have the ports for the auto trans cooler, but there are a flush-style,flat plug in them. They are different sizes between 70 and 71-72.You are also looking for a tank that says Harrison up near the neck.

1971 GP Harrison radiator

Hi Lee,saw your post and may have a radiator you could use.First it is out of a 71 Pontiac Grand prix 29 x 18 1/2 x 2 3/4 core size,it says Harrison by the top inlet, but it doe's have the holes in the tank for automatic trans lines and it is a 4 core. I also have it listed this week on Ebay listing # 330560562299 if you want to check that out.I have it listed for $75.00 + shipping which won't be horrible since I am in Nevada, but also if it sells on Ebay you are out of luck.So if interested please feel free to contact me direct at seymog@netscape.com,thanks Gary

I've got some 4 row harrison tanks but I believe most have the upper transmission coolant line close to the top. I believe the A body cars had it down lower. I'll check, if you would accept the correct looking tank that may or may not have the correct code stamped in it I may be able to help. John

Thanks for all your help. The radiator is for a very nice 1971 w-30 that I am trying to keep as original as possible. I would like to find the correct code tank because I was told all heavy duty cooling in 1971 used the same radiator. So a cutlass with ac and heavy duty cooling would be correct too. My original has been repaired once and needs more repairs so I am calling it junk and trying to find an original tank or radiator. The Grand Prix probably wont work but I appreciate you contacting me.

Lee,
Are you looking for a tank with the correct code? If so, are you sure a Cutlass with ac and heavy duty cooling would be the same? The 71 assembly manual designates a different radiator assembly for a 442 with 3.73 gears and Cutlass with ac and heavy duty cooling. I guess the passenger side tank could be common. Do you still have the original metal tag from your radiator? What code is it? What code is stamped on the tank you need? I am assuming your car is a 71 W-30 4 speed with 3:73 gears.

Hi Lee

Rocket Vapor has info on the rad tanks in the thread link below. Maybe he can let you know which embossed letters you need
