Um, wouldn't that also be any 1968 non-A/C dash pad?

Like I said...

All 1968 non-A/C dash pads were ventless. The upper level ventilation was only used on cars without vent windows, which were 1969 xx67 and xx87 body styles.

Not from the factory. FYI, the parts book shows P/N 398617 pad (for black) for all 68 without A/C, and all 69 w/o A/C or upper ventilation. No 1968 A-body Olds had the second **** under the dash to operate the upper vents, since they did not have upper vents.

You might consider getting a dash cover if you already have a dash that is in poor condition. Here's a supplier:

You can also get non-OE style dash covers. Here's a supplier. I actually just ordered seat covers for the seats in my 86 f250 from these folks. They're friendly and have good prices.

If you can't find a parts car and don't want to consider the other options you can always have a dash pad restored. Be prepared to pay good money though. I've only heard positive things about their work.

I don't know. That may be what the manual says but as original and unrestored as this car was I'd find it hard to believe that someone went to the trouble of locating a matching willow gold dash pad with the exact same patina as the rest of the interior and well as the other components.

That said, I don't really care. I'm building a race car and correctness is of zero concern. I just like the cleaner look of this particular style of dash pad. I'M e edited the title of this thread to include 68 as well.
