Wanted: 4.10/4.11 gears for 8.5" -10bolt for a 72 olds.

Those 3:73's monaz has, would be real tempting, since 4:10's were aftermarket only - never factory, and probably hard to find, used.
Olds factory had 3:42, 3:90 and 4:33's.
Aftermarket had 3:55, 3:73 and 4:10's.

 

There is no 3:55 for the 8.5" 10-bolt,only the 8.2".

The factory gears are 3:42,3:73,and some trucks had 4:10's.The aftermarket has both 3:90 and 4:10.

 

'From Olds' meant an Olds option, as on the order sheet.

 

I don't need olds 4.10s im just seeing if anyone has any aftermarket laying around. i know alot of people get a car that has 4.10 and they take them out to go back to a more driving gear. so seeing if anyone has any laying around. i will also take 3.90.

 

I've got a set of Richmond 4.10s still currently in a '73-'77 Cutlass rear end. I'd be willing to seperate them out for $100 plus the shipping. Look good as far as I can tell with them still in the housing.

 

What carrrier do you have in yours now ? Makes a difference as to
gear set based on carrier . Olds had 3 different carriers those years.

I have a BRAND NEW set 4.10 Richmond gears for the 671 carrier
( Olds - 3:08-3:23 carrier. )

He needs gears for the 71-up 8.5" 10-bolt,not the 12-bolt O-axle.Your O-axle gears,however,might be wanted by someone else,as Richmond stopped making that ratio.

 

I have a 12 bolt o axle. but its not a posi and the gears are not what i wanted. i didnt want to break the type o axle so i'm using a 10 bolt posi which shall be fine with what i'm doing with it.

I have found some 4.11 gears. thanks everyone for helping me out.

 

I would use the 71-72 8.5" 10-bolt anyway.It is correct for your car,and the parts are plentiful & cheaper.
