Hey all, I'm looking for a 455 engine in the SoCal area. Prefer a smog engine since it's going into a G-body, but frankly anything stock-ish for a decent price would be cool. If you have an auto trans as well, even better. I have cash in hand and a truck to come pick it up.

I've got a '77 350 SBO, brand new SBO Edelbrock "RV" cam, and a G body GM 8.5 rear with posi and 3.56 gears I'd be willing to trade or help sweeten a deal.

If nobody here can come up with one close enough I'd encourage you to check out Craigslist for all the locations you'd be willing to drive to.

Thanks for the advice. The reason I cam here is because I've been searching CL with little luck. There is one or two fully built engines up for a ridiculous amount of money but they're way out of my budget. I'll expand my search area though! That's a good idea.

 

I've got extra parts up in Oregon. I believe there's several members in the San Francisco or Sacramento area. Then a couple more in the Las Vegas area. I haven't seen a lot of posts from Southern California. But it also doesn't hurt to bring your post back to the top every few days. That was the purpose of me putting TTT at the top of the message. Maybe there is someone close by who just hasn't seen your post yet and unless it gets refreshed and brought "to the top" they might not see it.

I can check on one up here in Sacramento. I know a buddy that has one sitting in a seatrain w/ a th400 strapped on. I'll swing by his shop and get the numbers if your interested. I don't know what he wants for it's been sitting on a pallet for a few years. Let me know.

3.56 gears? What are they for? GM never made 3.56 ratio for an 8.5".
