Wanted 455 engine for a 1971 Cut

Ok. Finally the time to upgrade my 350 to a 455. I live in the Detroit area. Does not have to be whole engine. Could just be block maybe heads. I might wanna build some of it myself. Do I have to change the motor mounts?

Thank you Michael

I don't think that is accurate. From what I recall, if you match the engine and frame mounts, as in in if you use the SBO engine mounts with the SBO frame mounts, or BBO engine mounts with BBO frame mounts, the engine will sit in the correct orientation.

So if you are installing a 455 in place of a 350, use the 350 mounts.

Not close to you, but I have a pretty much complet4 1970 455 removed from a Toronado GT w-34 car that I have had sitting in my garage for about 22 years. Includes some extra parts also. This motor has the large valve heads and was factory rated at 400 HP. Located in the Reno, Nevada area.

If you haven't found a 455 block or engine yet I have four 1970 455s.

Two are near complete, pretty much just missing the carburetors: One is a "Serf F block" with E heads that I pulled from a Linden, NJ built 1970 442. The other is a "Stick F block" with E heads out of a big body Fairfax, KS built car.

I also have 2 bare 1970 455 blocks. Both are "Stick F blocks" out of Lansing built cars...one of them I personally removed from a 1970 442.

Also have two 455 crankshafts available along with lots of other 1970 -1972 455 engine and Cutlass/442 parts.

PM me if interested.
